Laptop Adapter Rental for connecting laptops, tablets and other devices to projectors and HDTV’s. All laptops come with a “Video Out” port. The challenge we face is determining what your specific device has in order to assure it can connect to a projector or HDTV.
“USB A or B cannot be used for Video connection. Projectors and most HDTV’s do not have the capability to show information from thumb drives. Please do not plan to use a USB A or B connection.”
This brief guide shows the more common ports, but certainly not all. Providing a brand or model of laptop will not help in determining a video port, since manufacturers offer options within models. If you are unsure, please email us a photo of your laptop ports. Having the correct adapter is critical for proper connection.
VGA is an old but popular video output that is still present on many PC laptops. Often it is blue or grey in color.
The HDMI port is found on most newer PC laptops and some Macbooks. HDMI transmits both video & audio.
Thunderbolt / Mini Display
Thunderbolt is present on all newer Macbooks and iMacs and some PC laptops. You’ll need an adapter to connect to a TV or projector.
USB-C / Thunderbolt 3
A data, video & power connection on new Macbook & PC laptops. You’ll need an adapter to connect to a TV or projector.
Other adapters are available, as well as a variety of cables. It is critical to the success of your event to inform us of the connection your laptop requires.
